San Diego, CA - M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Recording Artist J. Pierre be will be opening for world-renowned and award winning gospel performer Kirk Franklin at the San Diego County Fair on Saturday, June 25, 2011. He is being featured with “San Diego Power Play,” a collaborative gospel music effort featuring Stefanie Kelly, Georgina De La Mora and J. Pierre, all of whom will be appearing on the Heineken Grandstand Stage with Kirk Franklin.

This annual celebration of gospel music at the fair has gained notable attention over the years and draws large crowds who often wait especially for “Gospel Day” to attend the fair. On this day, fairgoers experience the best of contemporary and traditional gospel from top local and national groups, choirs and solo artists on several stages throughout the fair all day long. The climax of this fun-filled day is the evening concert on the Heineken Grandstand Stage.

“I’m so excited,” said Pierre about being a part of San Diego Power Play. “I look at everything that has happened this past year... look where God has brought me. It’s awesome,” he said. Fans of his music ministry will be happy to know that he will also be releasing his long awaited solo CD “Choose!” the week of the Gospel Festival. His hit singles “You Breathed” and “I’ll Wait” which have been in high radio rotation, are featured on the CD.
